Getting started

Ten minutes from install to a previewed customer page.

Nothing is customer-facing until you have seen the status block on one of your own orders and switched it on. Here is the whole path.

Not yet on the App Store

StatusClerk is finishing its first full cycles on a development store, ahead of App Store review. If you make things to order on Shopify and want to be among the first stores, write to us. A real person replies within one business day.

Ask for early access

  1. 1
Install from the Shopify App Store

StatusClerk opens inside your Shopify admin. It asks for access to orders, products, fulfilments and customers, and writes only tags, metafields and the fulfilment holds you switch on.

  2. 2
    See the jobs it found

Every open line item on your online orders becomes a job with the product, the quantity and the personalisation the customer typed — before you set anything.

  3. 3
Pick a craft preset and map your properties

Engraving, embroidery, print, jewellery or ceramics gives you the stages. Then say what each line-item property means — text, font, colour, upload, needed by — using real values from your orders.

  4. 4
Say who needs a proof, and set lead times

None, some products or all: a shop default with per-product overrides. Lead times in working days per product, and any closed days on the calendar.

  5. 5
Preview the customer block on one of your orders

See exactly what the customer would see under each item, in your store's theme, with your words. Nothing is customer-facing yet.

  6. 6
    Switch it on

For every open order, or only orders placed after a date. From then on, every stage change tells the customer, and the queue runs the morning.
